DRE License Renewal and Continuing Education
Your real estate license is issued for a four-year period and must be renewed by completing continuing education.
How do I know my license is up for renewal?
The DRE will mail you a renewal reminder letter to your mailing address on record around 60 days prior to your license expiration. Even if you don’t receive a notification letter, you must renew before your four year period is up!
If you’d like to check your renewal date, click on this DRE link to look it up.
For convenience, we recommend using the eLicensing process for your renewal, as it is paperless and more efficient.
How do I renew my license?
If you’ve already completed your required continuing education, renew your licence by:
- Log in to eLicensing on the DRE website and sign in with your login credentials.
- Select License Renewal, and then select Renew License (must be within 90 days of your expiration date). Follow all the instructions to update all information and report completed classes, and pay your fees online.
- When asked, “Is your broker present?”, Answer, “No”.
- When asked for your employer certification information, please fill in accounting@realtyconcepts.com.
- Send an email to accounting@realtyconcepts.com to let us know you’ve completed your renewal.
- All done! Realty Concepts will certify your license.
What type of continuing education will I need to complete to renew my license?

- Three-hour courses on ethics, agency, trust fund handling, risk management and fair housing
- A two-hour course on implicit bias training
- 18 hours minimum of consumer protection courses
- Remaining hours may relate to either consumer service or consumer protection
For subsequent renewals, you must complete the following 45 clock hours of DRE-approved curriculum:
