Can I Market to Previous RC Listings?
Are agents allowed to cold call listings that expired under different RC agents?
Realty Concepts Policy for Marketing to Previous RC Listings
At Realty Concepts, we have the hardest working, best marketing agents in the business. We know that agents leave no stone unturned to find the best listings to grow their business.
For some agents, calling, mailing, or door knocking on expired listings is a big part of building their sales. We coach this and celebrate it when it happens.
With that said, we ask that all agents practice professional courtesy and common sense when it comes to marketing to past Realty Concepts listings.
What does that mean, specifically? Consider doing the following prior to calling a past RC client:
- Reach out to the past listing agent with a quick message: “I’m cold calling some expired listings. Are you still working with Jane Doe at 1234 Home Street or has that person moved on from the working relationship?”
- As a best practice, it might make sense not to approach RC clients for 2-4 weeks after a listing expires, as there is a high likelihood that your co-worker is trying to re-list the property during that time period.
- If you secure a listing that was listed a long time ago with an RC agent, proactively reach out to that person to let them know that you’ve listed the property so that they are not caught off guard.
